The Florida House moves forward with meeting on redrawing FL's congressional lines.  Read more HERE. The Select Committee on Congressional Redistricting is scheduled to meet on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., effectively inching Florida closer to mid-decade redistricting.
It’s illegal in Florida to draw districts with intent to favor or disfavor a political party. If the goal is to add seats to solely benefit one party, that’s unconstitutional.
That is why on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025 at 7 p.m., LWVFL will be hosting an all-member call to brief all LWVFL members on the latest on redistricting, as well as the next steps they should take.  TAKE ACTION.  Join the call to action!

Leaguers, plan to join us as we make our voices heard at the capitol. Secure your spot today for 2026 Lobby Days. LWVFL hotel rates are valid through Dec. 20, 2025. Registrations done after Dec. 20 will be booked at the hotel's rate, pending room availability. And while you're at it, don't forget to sign-up today for the upcoming 2026 Lobby Days Bootcamp trainings. Register HERE.

Leaguer Kamakalar Shenai offers insights about what America's future deserves--a younger Congress! From AsiaTrend, read his full essay HERE.

"Our 119th Congress is the third-oldest in history, with a Senate median age of 64.7 and House median of 57.5. Only 14% of senators are in their 40s, while 64% are over 60. Despite Congress’ less than 25% approval rating, incumbents win reelection at 95%.

This matters because people in their 20s, 30s and 40s will live with today’s decisions for 40-50 more years. They have the strongest incentive to think long-term about healthcare, Social Security, National Debt, Immigration and Climate Change."
