SPREAD the word! Today is the LAST day before the Sept. 2 Special Election (for State Senate Dist. 15 and State House Dist. 40) that you can Request your VBM ballot HERE!
 
Per the Orange County Elections site, "Vote-by-mail requests expire after each federal general election cycle. Therefore, all vote-by-mail requests expired on Dec. 31, 2024. To continue to receive vote-by-mail ballots, you must submit a new vote-by-mail request each general election cycle."
 
Also, EARLY voting begins Aug. 23 and goes through Aug. 31 (10am - 6pm) daily. For details about voting sites, visit https://www.ocfelections.gov/early-voting

As part of the League of Women Voters of the U.S.'s larger efforts to protect voting rights for all, we would love to hear from League members of Florida about the voting and voter registration process. TODAY at NOON!!  Virtual training to become a Guardian Walker through the Hope CommUnity Center
Guardian Walkers are U.S. citizen allies who believe that every child deserves to walk into school free from fear. By accompanying parents and children to school, Guardian Walkers offer reassurance, act as visible witnesses, and help ensure our neighbors feel safe bringing their children to learn.
Onboarding includes fingerprinting and a background check since we are working with vulnerable communities that we must keep safe.

In the Community


Voter Services attended the Black Joy Festival this past weekend sharing voter registration and voter rights information. This was LWVOC's 3rd year in a row conducting voter outreach. Approx. 2000 people attended. Thanks to the volunteer teams pictured here who braved the summer heat: not shown, Leslie Guerra and Winnie Hogue.
