Ready to march into 2024 making an impact?  If you "resolved to get involved" as part of your new year intentions, make plans to join us at one of our upcoming January activities (including an actual parade for marching!)
As we prepare for the 2024 elections, Hot Topics will discuss what a collaboration of resources and stakeholders in Orange County can do to empower communities and voters and give them greater hope for the future as well as offer actionable steps to move forward.  An outstanding panel for Healthy Community = Healthy Democracy will explore the relationship between them and some irrefutable facts - communities that have access to quality education, healthcare, food, and housing are more likely to be active in shaping their neighborhoods.

The moderator is Sandi Vidal, vice president of community strategies and initiatives with the Central Florida Foundation and a former LWVOC co-president. Panelists include: Tracy Swanson, CEO of the Foundation for a Healthier West Orange; Freddy Morello, executive director of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Greater Orlando; Rachel Allen, executive director of the Peace and Justice Institute; and Dr. Bahiyyah Maroon, CEO of the Polis Institute.
